Candy Theme Indoor Playground for Kids

 A local shopping centre in Malaysia wanted to create an indoor children's playground on a vacant site to cater to families with disposable income who come to shop and have a place for their children to play while their parents shop.

Challenge

Equipment designed for the elderly can be too difficult and frustrating for toddlers, and can be a safety hazard for young children at a stage of physical development where agility, balance and muscle control are not fully developed.

To ensure every toddler has an enjoyable experience in a shopping centre, we need playground equipment that meets their specific needs. During the planning process, we had to consider the available space and the shopping centre's budget to ensure that the design was sensible and feasible.

To achieve this, we invited specialists in early years play and design to work on our project. Their expertise and experience will ensure that the design of the play area is both safe, fun and meets the needs of young children whilst fitting with the overall style and positioning of the shopping centre.

With the introduction of a facility specifically designed for young families, the shopping centre quickly attracted a large crowd. Parents appreciated the safety of the facility's soft seating and enclosed play area. With a wide view of the play area, they could clearly see their children interacting and playing, and were reassured that their children were enjoying themselves on the soft play equipment. The play area not only brings more footfall into the shopping centre, but also encourages parents to come back and stay longer.
